Served the City of Newcastle as contract building official and plans examiner for this $16 million apartment building that provides 158 units in the 5 story wood-framed building over 1 story of noncombustible construction. The building utilizes pressurized stair enclosures for a story increase and provides a leasing office, roof deck on the 5th floor, and solar panels for energy conservation. Performed nonstructural, structural, accessibility, and energy code plan reviews directly and worked closely with subconsultants to provide plumbing, mechanical, oversight of smoke-control design, and structural review of the post-tensioned concrete work.
