About Us

Kolke Consulting Group, Inc. is a professional services corporation located in Renton, Washington, offering a range of services but specializing in building code plan review.  The company was founded by Crystal Kolke in 1998 after starting her professional career with a structural engineering firm that introduced her to the complexities of plan review in both the structural and nonstructural fields.  The experience working in a structural engineering office was combined with performing earthquake recovery permitting for the City of Seattle under a FEMA contract after the 2001 Nisqually Earthquake and working for the City of Mercer Island as a plans examiner then building official.  Ms. Kolke recognized the need present in the local community for quality plan review services from a professional with the skills and background she possessed.    

Once Kolke Consulting Group, Inc. was established, it was clear that bringing on additional team members to better serve the current client group was greatly needed.  The team at KCG has developed and changed as client needs have transitioned.  Currently, President Crystal Kolke serves as Senior Plans Examiner and Building Official.  The company has pulled together the resources and technical expertise of contract employees and subconsultants to provide a full spectrum of services to governmental clients.  At present, our team includes a development engineer to provide stormwater management, building inspectors, an electrical plans examiner and inspector, structural engineers, and mechanical engineers.  New employees and subconsultants will be appended to the team as the need arises.
